ASUS was preparing to launch some of their new products and wanted to do so in a manner that connected with the everyday lives of their users. Instead of producing a basic “how-to” informational video of their products, they wanted to show their products in action. They wanted to show an example of how their products could be utilized by consumers from diverse backgrounds.
Our friends on the ASUS team had a great idea for a video concept that included a boy utilizing the home wifi range from his treehouse in the backyard of a family’s house. The Conclave team used this idea as a starting point for writing the full treatment of this commercial. The final concept revolved around a young boy using several ASUS products to send his mother a special message. It is a fresh concept for a kind gesture we can all relate to.
This commercial was launched on the ASUS North America YouTube channel and exceeded the ASUS team’s goals for click-through conversion. As of today, this video still has some of the highest views on the company YouTube channel. Since then, we have been invited back to work on a series of commercials for other ASUS products. - This project actually helped launch the acting careers of our mother-son duo on set. The mother and son you see in the video are actually mother and son in real life! They have used this video as part of their portfolio to pursue their acting careers in Los Angeles and the Bay Area.
- This entire commercial was shot in one location at the same house in the same day. In order to keep our young main actor entertained and focused throughout the day, co-owner Gabriel Lomeli had to play basketball, football, and ninja battles with him in between takes to help get him through the day.
